Here at Stone Pharmacy we now offer treatment for seven common conditions, meaning you don’t have to see a GP or have a prescription. Pharmacy First is a new service which was launched at the start of 2024, enabling community pharmacists like ourselves to supply prescription-only medicines, including antivirus and antibiotics for some common medical conditions.

 

How it works

 

You can either walk into our pharmacy to make an appointment or contact us via telephone. We will then arrange a time to speak to you in a separate consultation room where a trained pharmacist will talk through your problem, examining you or accessing your medical records as a GP would, before recommending a course of action. This gets you the medication you need quickly and helps to reduce NHS waiting times.

 

What conditions can I use it for?

 

• Sinusitis

• Sore throat

• Earache

• Infected insect bite

• Impetigo (a bacterial skin infection)

• Shingles

• Uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women.
